Each word problem is paired with a strip diagram to scaffold your students’ problem solving.

This free math resource is aligned to the Texas TEKS 5.4B which requires students to both solve and represent multi-step problems using whole numbers and a variable.  Students can match the word problem to a representation created with a strip diagram.  They are also encouraged to write an equation that represents the problem and solve it.
